Umpire Application

Minimum Age
Umpires must be at least 13 years old and at least two grade levels older than the teams they are umpiring.
Where are the games
Games take place at various field within Farmington and Empire.
Dates
Umpiring opportunities will begin in early to mid-April with travel games and run through the end of July, concluding with the Gopher State and Community year-end tournaments.
Wages
3rd-5th Community or 9-11U Travel: $65/game
6th-8th grade Community or 12-13U Travel: $75/game
Big Cats, 14U Travel or Legion: $85/game (usually thru MN Umpires)

Q: How do I sign up for umpiring opportunities?
A: Games will be posted and can be claimed by any FBA umpire. More info will be shared after you apply.
Q: Where do I find the rules for the age group I'm umpiring for?
A: Familiarize yourself with the applicable 9-14U Travel rules MBL/MBT - Rules or Community rules MBL/MBT - Community/Rec Rules BEFORE you arrive at the game.
Q: How early do I need to show up before the game?
A: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the game is scheduled to start.
Q: What if I have never umpired before?
A: That's okay! We recommend signing up for the younger age Community games (i.e., 3rd grade) to gain experience as an umpire.
